Every four years I eagerly await for the winter olympics to start. You name it, I will watch
it. I find it all fascinating!! But my heart really belongs to the figure skating. Although it
isnt quite the same as it was and I'm not sure about all the new rules, I still love it.
My first olympics were the 1968 games in Grenoble, France. When the figure skating came
on (in black and white) I would don my handmade skating skirt (see picture below) and
twirl around - oh how that skirt twirled! And Peggy Fleming became my first heroine.

Fast forward to 1976 - Innsbruck Austria and Dorothy Hamil - "the haircut" and
once again I was glued to my seat.

1972 - Janet Lynn - I think one of the best skaters ever
1992 - Kristi Yamaguchi.....

And always, Michelle Kwan.......

While my life didnt involve me being a superstar figure skater, never the less, I still think
about what it would be like to glide so gracefully on the ice.
