Fifty is nifty and other falicies.....

As I am fast approaching 50 in a few short hours, I have been giving a lot of thought on just how long 50 years really is: 5 decades HALF a century L (roman numeral for 50) Put into those terms its too much to take in. I'm thinking that I just prefer just plain 50. Then there are the little ditties: fifty is nifty. I'll get back to you on that one. I like Oprah's thought on 50 - 50 is the new 30!! Yes, I think I'll go with that one. This is the birthday when you are suppose to "reflect" on your life and where you would like to go with the next 50 years. Where: where do I go from here. Could- Could I have done better. Should: should i change things. It's no wonder people have midlife crisis! I would like to take the "simplify" philosophy of life. And instead of so much thinking, just doing. My next fifty years will be filled with lots of hugs from my granchildren, laughing (making my laugh lines more pronounced) crying if need be, holding hands with my best friend, maybe living some where a little bit warmer, and having a little bit more fun. Seriousness one finds at 50 can be overrated!

  2. I am so proud of you, my best friend. A young lady that cares about her family and supports them to no end. A young lady that cares for kids every day in her work and those parents of these children have no idea how lucky they are to have a mother of three great girls taking care of their children. To a special one in my life for more than 33 years, I love you, and we will be best friends forever. Happy Birthday. Looking forward to the next 50 sweetheart.

  6. Aunt Maureen,
Happy Belated Birthday! So many of my memories in life have to do with you, Uncle Tom, and the girls. I can't believe my "young" aunt is fifty, or that I am 33! You are the best! I love you!
